Lausanne (SUI), October 3, 2015 – FINA regrets to inform you that the finals of the first day of the fifth leg of the FINA/airweave Swimming World Cup 2015 in Singapore (SIN) have been cancelled due to the weather condition today, namely the high level of haze in the swimming complex. The level of haze in the venue overpassed the limit established by the Singapore government.

The athletes, official and spectators’ health is the number one criteria for FINA, therefore the finals were cancelled.

The programme of the second day (October 4) is in principle confirmed but a further weather condition evaluation one hour before the heats and one hour before the finals will be made.

The payment of the prize money for today’s races that were cancelled will be based on the comparison of the best times made in other events of the second cluster, in Hong Kong and Beijing, among the athletes entered in the respective events in Singapore, and the heats of this morning.
